Video: Battling the mosquito-borne diseases: why it matters

Johanna Lindahl, senior scientist at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI),and coordinator of the ‘Metropolitan Mosquito’ project shares best tips on how to avoid mosquito bites and keep people away from deadly mosquito-borne diseases like dengue and Japanese encephalitis.

The Metropolitan Mosquito project is filling the knowledge gaps regarding urban livestock keeping and the associated risks of disease vectors and their pathogens in growing tropical cities. In many of these cities, the proximity to animals may result in increased risks for transmission of zoonotic diseases, including vector-borne diseases.

This three-minute video was produced to mark the World Mosquito Day 2019.
