The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) has released a set of training manuals on best practices for improving the quality and safety of informal dairy and pork value chains in Assam, India.
To mark the golden jubilee year of the Assam Agricultural University (AAU), the Department of Veterinary Public Health, College of Veterinary Science (CVSc), AAU, Khanapara, in collaboration with the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), Uppsala University and Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, organised a four-day workshop on veterinary and medical entomology and molecular methods for diagnostics at CVSc.

Indian newspaper The Telegraph reported on Monday, 20 July 2015, that a program by researchers from the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) that trained smallholder dairy producers in Guwahati in Assam, India led to an increase in milk production through improved methods and practices of dairy farming.
