Nepal Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development explores collaboration opportunities with ILRI during visit to India
Collaboration opportunities to strengthen Nepal’s livestock sector were top of the agenda when Shri Mahindra Ray Yadav, Nepal’s minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development along with his private secretary, Dinesh Kumar Yadav, visited the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI). During the courtesy call to the institute’s New Delhi office on 8 June 2022, Yadav and ILRI’s regional representative for South Asia, Rahman Habibar, discussed technical support in the livestock sector, capacity development and women’s empowerment. Virtual strategic consultation to prevent transboundary infectious disease spread in South Asia organized by ILRI
A strategic consultation meeting to explore ways to prevent transboundary infectious diseases (TAD) from the livestock and poultry sectors of South Asian countries was jointly organized by the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS), the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and the Bangladesh Academy of Agriculture (BAAG) on 15 February 2022. Transforming livelihoods in South Asia through sustainable livestock research and development
On 13 and 14 November 2018, the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) convened a regional workshop with partners from Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan. Together with ILRI senior staff and scientists, participants from public and private institutions reviewed country development outcomes, agricultural priorities and constraints and potential contributions of the livestock sector in the region. Livestock and livelihoods: CSISA project boosts incomes and productivity in South Asia
