ILRI and ICAR partners conduct hands-on training on reducing methane emissions from livestock
Twenty-two researchers from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) institutes, State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and Bharatiya Agro Industries Foundation (BAIF) participated in a lecture series and hands-on training program focused on methane emissions in the livestock sector from 26-28 October. The training was co-hosted by the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) and ICAR at the National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology (NIANP), Bengaluru. Continue reading
CGIAR strengthens partnerships and research with the Ministry of Agriculture for sustainable agricultural development in Vietnam
Today,10 December 2021, CGIAR, the global largest agriculture innovation network, convened a coordination meeting with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (MARD). The meeting was chaired by Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh and Jean Balie, regional director of One CGIAR in Southeast Asia and the Pacific to review the relationship between MARD and CGIAR and discuss ways to further improve collaboration for sustainable agricultural development in Vietnam. What is next after CGIAR A4NH in Vietnam: Promoting healthy diets through systematic food system transformation
The CGIAR Research Program on Agriculture for Nutrition and Health (A4NH) is getting ready to wrap up its five-year work in Vietnam and gearing up to more robust One CGIAR initiatives on Protecting human health through a One Health approach (One Health) and Sustainable Healthy Diets through Food System Transformation (SHiFT) Initiative. Through a closing workshop on 25 November 2021, the A4NH managing partners sat down with relevant international and national government partners, and stakeholders to look back at the implementation years of A4NH and discuss how One Health and SHiFT align with existing work and the country’s food system transformation pathway. Art exhibition showcases artist and farmer view of livestock development in Vietnam
About 120 artworks and photos on livestock from the Vietnam National Fine Arts Museum and the Livestock-led Interventions towards Equitable Livelihoods and Improved Environment in the Northwest Highlands of Vietnam, otherwise known as the Li-chăn project, will be displayed in an exhibition to be launched virtually and physically in Mai Son District, Son La Province in the Northwest of Vietnam on 12 October 2021.
