The Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), a national research centre under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and ILRI have started a research collaboration in livestock feed development.
MARD shared its research objectives and development plans for the country’s agricultural sector, including possible areas of cooperation for 2018-2020. A training workshop on emerging respiratory virus threats was organized 10-13 April 2017 in Hanoi, Vietnam. A primary objective of the research projects is to examine the ecology of four types of respiratory viruses circulating in the north of Vietnam including influenza A, B, C, and D, adenoviruses, coronaviruses, and enteroviruses. Secondary objectives include infrastructure development through capacity building of diagnostics among Vietnamese professionals in the animal and human sectors within a One Health context. In a meeting held 8-10 October 2015, the two institutes identified areas of mutual interest such as food safety, zoonotic diseases and animal nutrition as opportunities for developing joint proposals and projects.
